For American kids

In close collaboration with the Embassy's School Office and with the aim of bringing more and more students to take the AP Italian exam, the institution promotes and supports the inclusion of new Italian language courses in the curricula ;school children from local elementary, middle and high schools.

Our Logo

The choice of the logo of  Casa Italiana Language School, which has become the only managing body in the consular district of Washington DC  since January 1st 2013, it is not casual or simply linked to a graphic choice.

It represents, summarized, the winning drawing of the competition announced in the school year. 2010/2011 on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy.

Students from American elementary, middle and high schools in the consular district of Washington where the Italian language is taught participated in the competition. The winning drawing was then awarded during a celebration at the Embassy, printed on a T-shirt and distributed to all Italian students who number around 4,000 in the Washington area.

By adopting this logo we also wanted to express a tribute of recognition and gratitude to Cesarina Horing, promoter of the competition, and Maria Wilmeth who have given so much in terms of dedication to the promotion and diffusion of Italian culture in our area.
