The Embassy uses its School Office to monitor and coordinate the promotion of the Italian language throughout the United States. Each Consulate coordinates activities to promote the language in the schools of its own district. The School Offices in turn avail themselves of the collaboration of the Promoting Bodies, non-profit organisations, which receive contributions from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to organize Italian courses in schools.

 

In the district of Washington, DC, the School Office supports the organization of supplementary Italian courses for the children of Italians residing in the area and promotes Italian courses aimed at students of American schools in the consular district of Washington, DC.
To promote the Italian language in the Washington area, it avails itself of the collaboration of the promoting body Casa Italiana.
