"The Twinning Project" between Italy and the United States

The second edition of the TPIU Twinning Project Italiy USA opened with a meeting hosted at the Italian Embassy in Washington DC, where the Director of the School Office Prof. Maria Fusco greeted and wished the students of the schools involved good luck in their work .
Also present in the room was Francesco Isgro, the Director of Casa Italiana Sociocultural Center, who has always supported the project.
Several guests connected remotely from Italy and the United States.
November 16, 2023
The second appointment of the TPIU international exchange project saw the great artist Dionisio Cimarelli Sculptor as a guest in the Sala Falcone of the IAMDC , who entertained the children with a presentation of his works and his incredible career.
Also present was the Director of the Embassy's School Office, Prof. Maria Fusco. The students of Jackson Reed High School were present in person and the students of Oxon Hill HS and two Italian schools, the Cambiserrani Higher Education Institute of Falconara and the Cappellini Institute of La Spezia, were connected online.

Alessandro Lupino
The 4th meeting, dedicated to sport, one of the themes of the project, saw the motocross world champion Alessandro Lupino as a guest who shared his experience as an athlete with the students.

In the monthly meeting of the TPIU exchange project, the Italian and American students of the institutes involved had the opportunity to interview the great footballer Leonardo Bonucci, connected from Istanbul, and the national team physiotherapist Emanuele Randelli.
The guests answered the kids' questions and told their experiences, giving a lesson in humanity and morality.

March 14, 2024
The meeting on March 14, once again dedicated to sport and nutrition, had as guests the great defender Giorgio Chiellini, connected from Los Angeles, and the national team nutritionist Dr. Matteo Pincella.
The kids were once again able to interview guests who shared their experiences.
April 11, 2024
For the meeting in April the theme addressed is art, in particular sculpture, thanks to the participation of Professor and artist Davide Prete.
Through the questions posed by the students, the guest recounted his experience and his artistic journey and stopped to talk about the use of technology in the creation of his works.

Grant for the creation of the TPIU logo
Awarding of the Grant for the contest dedicated to the creation of the TPIU logo.
The chosen logo was designed by the Cappellini-Sauro Institute student Agata Altanese.

For the meeting in December we had as a guest the film producer and creator of the inclusive sport: fireball.
The students of Cappellini Sauro, together with their teachers, had the opportunity to try this sport.

Final event
Final event live from the International Festival of European Geopolitics in Venice where the students of the Cappellini Sauro school participated in person to represent the Twinning Project Italia USA exchange project, within the panel dedicated to education.
Connected by the Italian Embassy in Washington DC, in addition to the First Councilor Michela Carboniero and the Director of the School Office Maria Fusco, the students of the American schools involved in the project and the project's supporters were present.
Final videos of the first year
At the end of the first year, the students of the Cappellini Sauro Institute created a video and a digital book that summarizes the meetings of the first year of the TPIU project. The video was broadcast during the Venice International Geopolitics Festival.
The students of Jackson Reeds HS instead created a video that answers the project's question: "Can Art, Sport, Science dialogue? A challenge or a bet?"
